Poems About Living Life in the Moment
The Importance of Embracing the Present
In today's fast-paced world, it can be easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. However, it is important to remember the significance of living in the moment. When we take the time to appreciate the beauty around us and savor each experience, we are able to fully embrace life and all it has to offer.

"The Summer Day" by Mary Oliver
Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean—
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down—
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?
"Carpe Diem" by Robert Frost
The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You’re one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you’re two months back in the middle of March.
Embracing the Now
Living in the moment allows us to fully immerse ourselves in the present and appreciate all that life has to offer. It teaches us to let go of the past and not worry about the future, but rather focus on the here and now. By embracing the now, we are able to find joy and fulfillment in even the simplest of moments.
These poems remind us of the importance of living life in the moment and cherishing each experience. Take the time to savor the present and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you.
